readers of designboom may remember the ‘optimus maximus’ keyboard by art. lebedev studio.
the unique keyboard used keys individually lit by oled lights. this allowed each key to change
functions for a variety of purposes. at the beginning of this year the studio released
‘optimus tactus’ an even more futuristic keyboard concept using a flat touch screen interface.
as they point out ‘optimus tactus does not have physical keys, which means there are no
restrictions on their shape and size.’ so instead of just changing the function of each key,
this keyboard can play video, display colour swatches or anything your heart desires.
