lissa kooijman: eetmeet plate

dutch designer lissa kooijman developed the ‘eetmeet plate’ to encourage mindful eating at healthy
rhythms. the project was developed for her master’s thesis in response to over-eating and fast eating.
the plate is interactive and guides the dinner as they eat their meal. the plate measures the speed of
eating, responding through lights to tell the eater how long to chew before taking their next bite.
the plate normalizes the eating rate encouraging the diner to become aware of how fast they eat
transforming the eating experience into a more conscious one.
