sony reader daily edition



earlier this week sony announced their latest e-reader, the large screen reader daily edition with built in
wireless connectivity. the reader daily edition follows the announcement of the sony pocket and touch
e-readers earlier in the month. the reader daily edition has a 7 inch e-ink touch screen and a 3G cellular
connection that allows users to download books straight from the sony ebook store. in addition to buying
books, sony has also teamed up with public libraries to allow users to check out ebooks from the library
for a temporary period. this unique free service isn’t available on other e-readers in the market. the large
screen format even allows users to read in widescreen. the reader daily edition will go on sale later this
year for 399 USD with free 3G service through AT&T in the US.

I am glad Sony has launched an e-book product as it introduces competition in the market and lowers the prices for reading fans. However, I love my kindle and would probably stick with that for now.
