sniff is a toy dog with wireless capability that enables it to ‘sniff’ objects and react to them when they come
close to his nose. the design was first created by sara johansson, timo arnall & einar sneve martinussen as
part of  a course at the oslo school of architecture and design. the design aims to explore non-visual
interaction through tactility, sound and vibration to suit the need of visually impaired children. it is designed
as a daily companion but can also be used for playing games. sniff looks like an ordinary soft toy with
a plush exterior, but inside is an array of digital technology including an RFID reader, speaker, vibration
motor, USB connection and arduino wave shield. when sniff’s nose is placed next to an active object,
it reacts in a variety of different ways, giving feedback to the child.
