fedex senseaware



the shipping company fedex developed a small device that allows users to track their packages every
move. named senseaware, the device is dropped into your package prior to shipping and gives real time
information on the package via the web. a GPS receiver, accelerometer, cellular transmitter and a light
sensor are all built into the tiny product, all reporting data until your package is received. this would
allow users to know if their fragile package has been dropped, opened or lost along the way. the device
is only for US only shipping and costs 120 USD. while it wouldn’t be ideal for use when you send
something to your friend, senseaware would be ideal for frequent shipments of sensitive packages like
medical supplies.
