while the iphone and google’s android made major advances in mobile operating systems, nokia,
one of the industry’s major players, lagged behind. well nokia has just given an advanced preview of
their updated symbian os. the new system was presented at their capital market day by the company’s
ceo. the new os mostly updates the user interface, leaving the bones mostly intact. users will notice
slicker graphics, faster navigation and better web browsing. all of the new features are also being
optimized for large format touchscreen displays, allowing multi-touch capability too. hopefully
nokia’s resurgence will help promote innovation among all the major operating systems.
