if you love being outside in the rain with an umbrella but don't like actually getting wet, the funbrella
has a solution. developed at osaka university, the funbrella is a digitally enhanced umbrella that simulates
virtual rain, to give the feeling of rain without the actual thing. the umbrella can record different types of
rain through a mechanism that measures vibration of the umbrella’s awning. this vibration can then be
stored by the umbrella and recreated to give the illusion of rain. the system can also link two funbrellas
together allowing a user in a soggy climate to send the feeling of their rain to a user in a dry climate.
