light touch

light blue optics is showcasing their interactive tabletop projector the light touch at CES 2010.
the light touch allows users to turn any flat surface, vertical or horizontal, into an interactive touchscreen.
the device is pocket size and hooks up to a variety of devices such as a mobile phone to provide a large
multi-touch display. the projector uses holographic laser projection which create bright and high quality
images on any surface. infrared sensors detect motion so users can control their device uses gestures on
the projected surface. the company isn’t set to release the product anytime soon, but they do think it would
be useful for individual users on the go or in the home, workplace or even commercial environments.

This is slick, especially if it works like they claim. And look how beautiful it makes the people who use it, too!

This is a stolen concept : | Stop stealing our work!

The concept is not new, but if it works so well, great! I´m sure the future is turn eery surface into an interface.

As many people here said, this concept is not new, but it's cool anyway. May be usefull.

nothing is 100% original , even this . New stuff isn't just fresh unique idea dependent .Factors like money , occurrence, time ,luck , space and mix of adequate people. So stop judging , just react more appropriate in way of professional !

true but too much homage is played by play giarists...
snp5k   01.11.10
I used to play the giartist as a way of paying homage to plagiarists. ( Also, the more I see this old and unoriginal idea the stupider it seems. It looks like we'll need a machine to wash down all the touched surfaces, not to mention the innumerable potential pitfalls, glitches and annoyances a personal projector potentially encapsulates. I'm going to go ahead and say: FUTURE FAIL.)
Snidley Whiplash   01.11.10
I hate when homage is paid to new players of old ideas but if the new players make an old idea work in better ways then hooray for them. In the end, what else is good design than evolution towards perfection by a variety of minds? Also, if the originator couldnt make it work as a desirable thing in the marketplace and someone else can, what do we blame them for? Should PC design never have evolved because Kaypro or Atari work was sacred? I didnt say outright theft was OK, im saying ideas spring more ideas which i hope will always define a portion of creativity.
