airmouse

airmouse

while the iphone and its fellow touchscreen gadgets hint at a future of touch interactivity, deanmark is
developing the airmouse, a glove-like pointer for your devices. the concept aims to prevent repetitive
stress injuries by dissolving the standard desktop mouse into a floating device worn on the user's hand.
the airmouse is battery powered and operates using a laser sensor. the user simply holds their hand in the
air making gestures familiar to anyone who has used a standard mouse (scrolling, right click, left click).
because the device is directly in contact with the hand, the mouse is said to be faster and more accurate.

or u could sneeze and the next thing u know u have sent your whole email inbox to the wrong person!
sonico   02.03.10
Cool concept, but the real point here is that one holds a conventional mouse between your thumb and ring finger, this provides more mobility of the mouse with less movement of the hand, where as with this mouse, one has to move your entire hand to move the pointer.

Looks real practical to me, un-velcro at wrist, pull off fingers, throw on desk... go use restroom (don't forget to wash your hands), come back, slip on two fingers, re-velcro at wrist. I guess you'll just have to learn to drink your coffee with your other hand, or if you have infinite patience learn to use the mouse with your off-hand.
