fabian hemmert: living mobile phones

technology designer fabian hemmert has been working for many years on developing new ways to
communicate information on mobile phones that aren't visual. while graphical user interfaces are the
industry standard in the field, hemmert thinks there are ways to make digital content physical, in a sense.
his prototype concepts include a weight shifting mobile that changes its center of gravity and could be
used to help users navigate based on the feedback from the phone. another concept is the shape-changing
phone that adjusts its thickness. this idea could be used to communicate how many messages you have on
your phone. his other concept uses a heartbeat like pulse to communicate information and could be used
to project battery life.
