NASA: robonaut 2

NASA: robonaut 2

NASA is collaborating with general motors to develop robots designed for use in the aerospace and
automotive industries. these humanoid robots are being created to work in situations with humans,
like assisting astronauts during hazardous space missions. the robonaut 2 is the latest iteration of their
design. the robot is far more dexterous than previous versions with specially designed hands that can
perform multiple tasks. this new capability is ideal for using the robonaut in dangerous situations where
humans wouldn't want to go. the robots could also be programmed to do work on earth, like helping
workers build cars or buildings. for now the robots are only operational from the torso up and feature
gold backpacks and daft punk-like helmets.
