atomic cars is a small company which takes production model cars, like the popular fiat 500, and makes
them cleaner with the addition of an electric engine. the atomik 500 is an all-electric version based on the
abarth model. while atomic aims to make their cars much more environmentally friendly, it also wants
the to maintain high performance behaviour, blending the best of both worlds. the car uses lithium iron
phosphate batteries to store up energy for the electric motor, which promises the equivalent of 300 hp.
on the form factor side, the new version has a grill-less front design and aggressive side air scoops on
either side. the car will be produced in a limited edition of 50. the company will display their modified
500 at the 2010 top marques monaco this april.

....so....err.....where's the innovation? I think I prefer to watch MTVs "Pimp my Ride".

this is the future of car makers
making the whole car is getting unsustainable
modifying cars made by others one can make a profit
and does not answer to law suits

i agree with jaderdavila... but maybe could be smarter re-use old cars, (i.e. the OLD 500 FIAT, instead of the new one- trowing away a new engine.. that's a big waste!) upgrading the mechanical part..

Excellent to see a car maker going for the full electric car instead of the highbred. The design and modifications are all dressing and can be adjusted with consumer and market place demands.
Brilliant to see a follow through with modern public sentiment. They should make more than just fifty though. Im sure sales would rocket if production units increased, the more they produce may help the price to be rationalised assisted by higher consumer turnover.
