jump bike: the running powered bicycle

can't decide between walking or bicycling? fear no more, because we have received a submission from a reader
who has created a vehicle which does both. the 'jump bike' is a custom built bicycle which has no pedals and
instead is powered by running. the rider simple sits on the seat and begins to run, pushing the bike forward in the
process. once they have reached the desired speed they jump onto the bike and sit. make sure to watch the
video below and you will see why this is quite possibly the strangest way to power a bike.

You how many people won't wear helmets because they think that it makes them look dorky? Now how many of them do you think will have no problem running around looking like a jackass?

why? why not!
jugobika   04.05.08
I agree, why not? People have ideas and bring them to fruition.
It may look odd and uncomfortable and may not appeal to you but kudos to them for creating something like that. It looks like it would be fun to ride, although maybe mostly downhill. They do not look like jackasses though.
Why so negative?

I am all for encouraging out of the norm ideas, but this looks really hard on the nuts!

Think about its usability for those wanting to exercise but can't handle the impact on their joints with running or jogging. This is a much lower impact form of exercise.
