'honda zeppelin' by myung jin jung
myung jin jung a student at hongik university designed 'honda zeppelin', a luxurious
futuristic car as his final year thesis. tha car's form was based on that of an airship.
the 2030 honda’s luxury sports sedan, zeppelin concept, was designed
with a design direction of 'high-tech dynamic', by applying design elements
of aerodynamic form. the car features an asymmetric styling line running from
the hood to the rear. a slit like windscreen is attached to a video display to
allow the driver a greater field-of-vision.
there is no dashboard in zeppelin. all the necessary information and other
elements needed for driving is displayed on the inter panel of the car,
and everything is controlled with only the minimum physical movement due
to the use of voice recognition technology. the seat position can be changed freely.
the front row seat can rotate 360 degrees and so when the car is not moving,
the front row seat and the back row seat can face each other. this makes it possible
for a brief meeting, enjoying tea and even working in the car.

Looks cool and all BUT I find it strange to take inspiration from something that is famous for it's disastrous demise? Can we expect the Titanic inspired motorcycle next?

Looks like a GT by CITRÖEN...

Sorry, but this is an absolutely terrible design for a car. Either the designer has no driving license or he completely ignores that you need to see a bit more of the street than through this tank-like windscreen, and this won't change for sure in 2030.
OK, let's say it's only about styling: I think the zeppelin is a bad analogy for a sporty car...it is by today's standards very slow and has no direction in its design because of its construction. The designer made the same mistakes: you can hardly see which part is the front and which the rear when you take the headlights away. This has nothing to do with dynamic design! Or is the car supposed to drive in both directions? And why does he put an (already today) old-fashioned GPS antenna on top when he designs a car for 2030??

Kasorp you need to read the spec. It is still terrible as a design but that is not actually a windsreen but a full length LCD TV that generates a picture of the road. Would be fun if you had an electrical fault!!! lol

Who needs a TV, why don't use a window. It's not a space shuttle, isn't it...and: "claustrophobia"
Pardon 04.09.09
wicked renderings. great job....
And people criticizing the car/designer. Don't push him around. This is a concept car, and following today's standards it's meant not to work :)

Front end is garbage...just looks like they rushed the 3d model though. Back is nice, but i dont know why this car doesnt have a consistant visual language though, it makes it really hard to like. I get the screen inside, but what if you want to drive, and have to use a screen as a gauge of where you are on the road, doesnt sound like you would have much depth perception....oops.

made me laugh =D the concept of trading gless with lcd is very interesting in a world where we have to be cautious of energy using, get serious! nice object though maybe it could be a vaccum cleaner or a lighter =D
