'the trabant nt' (new trabant) has been unveiled at the IAA frankfurt motor show, germany.
the project is the work of toy manufacturer herpa, in partnership with auto parts maker
indikar and engineering group IAV. the trabant nt's looks are based on the original 'trabant'
first produced in 1957, which became one of the most famous cars of the former east germany.

designed by nils poschwatta the new trabant can seat five, and is powered entirely by a lithium
ion battery pushing a 47kw motor. the 1050 kg car has a top speed of 125kmph and a 160km range.
