imm cologne 08: tom dixon named a&w designer of the year

on january 13th, tom dixon was given the prestigious a&w designer of the year award by the german magazine
architektur & wohnen at the 2008 cologne furniture fair. in honour of the award, dixon exhibited a collection of
works from his career, playing with light and shadow. the designs were arranged throughout the space,
hanging from the ceiling or installed on the floor. spotlights were placed to cast large shadows of dixon's works
on the walls and hanging cloths. dixon follows an acclaimed list of designers who were previously given this award.
as the winner, dixon selected doshi levien design for the a&w mentor prize for up-and-coming designers.
