makedo

‘liquid city’ by cache (paperboard, makedo)

situated right next to the designboom mart during the state of design’s design:made:trade exhibit was the
makedo installation. this exhibition marked the launch of makedo, a modular construction system designed
to enable the creation and decoration of objects and spaces from found materials. makedo is a series of
small widgets that can be used in any number of configurations to bind, attach or hinge different materials
together. the new product is equally suited for children making arts and crafts to designers experimenting
with new prototypes. the makedo exhibition at design:made:trade featured a series of custom constructions
made by local designers using found materials and makedo. the product is currently in beta and close to its
official 1.0 launch (expected this fall).
