vienna design week 09

under the theme 'on display' vienna design week features exhibitions and product
presentations as well as site specific installations and work-in-progress design events.
all displays can be seen during the regular opening hours at their respective locations
from 1 – 11 october. admission is free to all events except for interventions and guided
tours in museums.

freitag brothers: urban gardening

'urban gardening' is an exhibition/installation by the designer brothers and bag producers
daniel und markus freitag (ch), who have been concerned with the public space for years.
the show originally employed guerrilla tactics to direct our consciousness towards
the dreadful plight of our shared urban structures.

rado installation

the fascination of light, space, and matter will again be the subject in the rado store vienna,
which has created a unique atmosphere with its design as a mirrored cube. it's celebrating
its second anniversary this year and will unveil a surprise presentation by an internationally
active artist.

bejeweled – industrial design meets jewellery

industrial design students have enrolled for the workshop 'bejewelled', a project of
schullin jewellers with the university of applied arts vienna.the results are quite
impressive: from rings whose parts seem to float into each other to chaotic-appearing
design elements in bracelets and chokers – industrial design meets jewellery.

these are just some of the many events that will be in andaround the city.
