“butterfly” is a site-specific installation using household washing bowls of various sizes suspended in the air with fishing line. the plastic basins may be purchased in the hardware stores of the“gallery-mall”site installation, here the intention is to create a visual doppelganger to challenge our perceptions. the title evokes metaphors of symmetrical beauty, we recall the life cycle of the holometabolous insect and witness the transformation of daily utilities from the functional realm to that of the purely aesthetic. in this butterfly effect born of chaos we are lead to larger chinese philosophic thoughts on the state of being. more info: http://w1d3cl183.1mm3d1at3.org/en/bcp08.html
“梦蝶” 是一个场地特定装置作品，发生在上海某地方菜场入口内部由小商品铺面蜕变成的次艺术空间，以透明鱼线悬吊普通的塑料洗菜碟子构成，所用材料均可从周边店铺捷购。题目取自《庄子·齐物论》——“昔者庄周梦为胡蝶，栩栩然胡蝶也。自喻适志与！不知周也。俄然觉，则蘧蘧然周也。不知周之梦为胡蝶与？胡蝶之梦为周与？周与胡蝶则必有分矣。此之谓物化。”其大意就是庄子一天做梦，梦见自己变成了蝴蝶，梦醒之后他发现自己还是庄子，于是他不知道自己到底是梦到庄子的蝴蝶呢，还是梦到蝴蝶的庄子。作品借此映射实用与美学，市井空间与艺术空间二元性而创造的一个塑料梦境。
