tokyo-based product designer hamana takeshi and graphic designer iwagaki yuya have developed ‘temotoasobi‘ a chop-stick rest made from the tiny paper bag it is packaged in. ‘omotenashi’ expresses the japanese hospitality of disposable wooden chopsticks being wrapped; meaning they are offered pure and intact to the user. ‘sahou’ is the etiquette of placing the chopsticks on your plate or bowl to signify that you are satisfied. if you are not finished eating, the utensils are placed on a rest. this action is similar to table manners when using knives and forks. ‘temotoasobi’ is a simple chopstick-rest that uses clear graphics and origami folding techniques.
