‘kaloxy’ by amber martin-van velzen and dana chan

concieved by new zealand-based designers amber martin-van velzen and dana chan, ‘kaloxy’ is a playsuit that takes influence from the fundamental aspects of kaleidoscopes and how it produces ever changing colours and forms. a combination of mirrors and LEDs are used to project patterns into space and the onto garment itself. the pockets are lined with mirrors so that the light emitting from lights are reflected beyond the pockets and into the environment. controlled by an accelerometer, the wearable piece changes color produced by sharp body movements imitating the shaking of a kaleidoscope to trigger a random effervescent visual luminosity.
