based out of london and verona, daniel debiasi and federico sandri of the design collective something have recently completed the ‘qgini’ series for the italian manufacturer antoniolupi. ‘qgini’ is a series of bathroom accessories created as an extension of the side table ‘gino’ from 2011. all parts share a common design concept: each is made from planar surfaces and formed into a three dimensional object.

characterized by simplicity, the entire collection is obtained by bending a laser cut metal sheet and shaping it in order to meet the possible needs of a contemporary bathroom. with the tumbler and the soap dish made from alabaster, the series creates a blend of industry and craft, a contrast between heaviness and lightness. the product range includes towel rails in various sizes, wall hooks, a tissue holder, a brush and a towel rack. some of the products are conceived purely for the bathroom, while most of them can be easily used across the whole domestic landscape.
