‘cradle lamp’ by romain pascal

london-based designer romain pascal has conceived ‘the cradle lamp’ as a part of the upcoming 2012 paris design week. suspended on an laser cut aluminum structure using cord, the lampshade becomes detachable to be used as a torch. the use of concrete provides a smooth finish and fine detailing, contrasting its aesthetic appearance with matte-white finish. the material selection functionally stabilizes the lighting object to the surface. its designated base serves as a space to fit personal objects such as keys, change, wallet and a phone.
