‘geolamp’ by giacomo mezzadri

italian designer giacomo mezzadri has developed ‘geolamp’, a pendant lamp made using plywood and glue. the concept, emerging as part of an experiment with polyhedrons, provides elegance and simplicity to its form. the half geodesic sphere, made by two kinds of triangles, proves to be ideal to create a large lamp. its triangular faces create an interesting game of light and shadow during the day, making a notable presence in space. in the evening, the entire inner surface is illuminated, revealing the edges that compose its shape.
