kram/weisshaar: 'outrace' at london design week 2010

the london design festival has commissioned clemens weisshaar and reed kram to design this year's
trafalgar square installation. the installation 'outrace' is described as a 'mechanical octopus' assembled
from six industrial robotic arms on loan from audi's production line.
you can see a live feed of the robots in action here.

custom software developed by the designers will allow members of the public to to control
the installation and render text input as light traces drawn by the synchronized mechanical tentacles.
the resulting light paintings will be recorded using specialized high definition video equipment
and published online.

kram/weisshaar: my private sky dishes
the series is a limited-edition, hand made and hand painted collection of plates, which feature a pattern of constellations made possible by a special computer application the designers created.
rachel harding: 3D lace
'3D lace' takes traditional textiles and transforms them into three-dimensional objects. harding laces, tweeds and damasks are extruded to create stalagmite structures.

this exhibition presents a selection of london-based japanese designer tomoko azumi's furniture spanning from 1995 to 2010. included are models, drawings and watercolor sketches of the various pieces on show.
