deckstool

rather than throw away old broken skateboards, designer jason podlaski turns them into small stools
for sitting on. the stools are composed of cut-down skateboard decks that are assembled together using
a single truck to hold them together.  podlaski observed that most broken board are severed at the truck
while a smaller majority are split in half. using this info he created a design that uses the longer and more
abundant ‘broken at the truck’ pieces for legs, while the ‘broken in half’ pieces form the seat.
podlaski builds the stools in his factory, reviving skateboards destined for landfill. each stool is unique,
making the natural wear-and-tear an integral element in the design.

i'm all for recycling but these are so so lame. and gross. the old skatboards would look way better just kept in their original state and wall-mounted or something. or just thrown away.
