no more loosing your string with your teabag in a mug of hot water.

similar to a boat that has a cleat on the dock, 'tie tea' designed by new york
designer george lee founder of le moutin noir & co allows users to simply tie
the string of their tea pouch to the slots embedded on the lip of the cup.

why not reverse: designing teabags that don´t drop into the cup? I like my cup as simple as it is.
max   06.20.10
This makes me smile. Nice design. Good work.
TJ   06.20.10
max, I suspect that more resources would be consumed by using redesigned tea bags than by using redesigned cups, though perhaps someone will prove me wrong.

It's also from designboom.
J   06.21.10
Hi Yo and J. This is George myself. If I copied anyone's idea, or my design is cheep, please show me. And I will be more than happy to accept all kind opinion and suggestions. I have been a designer for a while and I always hate people copy others' ideas or concepts. This tie tea design took me years to design and develop. I have been very carefully doing researched to avoid any existing ideas or concepts. If you have any questions or suggestions, here is my email. georgelee1975@gmail.com. Thank you.

It's a lovely design~ I love it!

Not that tea bags falling into a cup is that much of an issue, but what's was wrong with just wrapping the label around the handle? Yet another unecessary product published as "ground-breaking design" by db.

I've noticed nobody has picked up on the issue of a lower liquid volume/level created by the slots or that liquid might leak out of these slots whilst drinking, if you're a left-hander.
cagey   06.21.10
Like it!!! This is exactly what I need..
KW   06.21.10
love it ! so simple!
Tulip   06.21.10
breakable!
il   06.21.10
Tea bag falling into a cup is problem because of the string. String is totally useless. We have spoons to lift bag. It is easier than handling a string.

Tea bag string is one the most useless invention ever and people don`t even question that.
Kajsa   06.21.10
Hi George, all very nice comments but how can it be produced? - thought about undercut? Material thickness? I imagine it's supposed to be made in porcellan - it's a bit delicate I reckon - all the same a nice idea with potential.
Dr. Design   06.21.10
