mayra monobe: the road - les cravates par Hermes competition shortlisted revealed

'the road'
'the road' by mayra monobe from australia, is one of the 280 shortlisted entries from our recent designboom competition 'les cravates par Hermès'.
designer's own words:
'this pattern is a re-interpretation of the classic Hermès patterns, combining the 'H' with cars.
from a distance, all you can see is a pattern with Hs (either the dark Hs - cars,
or the lighter Hs - road), but looking into it you'll find the road and five cars in an intersection.
the concept relies on the fact that Hermès makes great looking fashion items,
and the secret lies within the fine detail that is put into each piece.'
however Hermès wanted to include the winning designs in their next collection,
prompting us to keep the results under wraps, until the collection was ready and presented
at Hermès stores. within the next days the complete data of the shortlisted winners,
including images, will be revealed. stay tuned!
