mirko mielke: le confident / la causeuse

a series of wooden outdoor furniture benches and chairs was created by german
designer mirko mielke and showcased at his exhibition titled 'le confident'.

a key element of his designs was to signal a certain attitude about social interactions
rather than putting a focus on comfort. this is especially apparent in his double seater chair
which allows two people to sit in discreet distance of each other, thus, seeking to facilitate
conversational exchange amongst its users.

'le confident' was presented during DMY international design festival berlin 2010
at systM / gallery bar. the exhibition runs till july 2 with a special program to watch
the ongoing worldcup 2010.
