made for the london festival of architecture, local design collective superblue (robert frith,
james bowskill, jon almond and annick collins) transformed jubilee park with an interactive
installation called 'knitting nancy'. inspired by the traditional knitting toy, the team created
a giant version of the trinket and encouraged everyone to weave together a never-ending
string of seating arrangements. the resulting installation and space reflects the theme of
the festival, 'the welcoming city', by engaging the public together in a common activity
and celebrating the cultures that make london into a distinct, unique, and welcoming place.

great installation, nice and simple use of materials (medicine balls - rope, knitting structure). How simple, yet very effective.
