‘red blue CNC’

red blue CNC‘ is a modular multifunctional CNC machine that allows for various configurations to best suit specific tasks. created by filipino born, vancouver based nick santillan for his graduating project at emily carr university of art & design, the standard configuration allows for machine work to be done on top and below the surface. with the ‘red blue CNC’, users are capable of engraving designs directly on the surface below.

standardized mounting holes every 3.5 inches means that adapters can be created and added for unlimited attachments to enhance its usability. for instance, adding a router transforms the machine into a CNC router, alternatively the addition of a plastic extruder gives it the function of a 3D printer. meanwhile, the attachment of a pen allows the CNC to be utilized as a plotter.
