cilicon faytory: coco collection
singporean design duo cilicon faytory (cici chen and lui honfay) presented their 'coco' chair'
in designboom's 'asia now' exhibition at dwell on design in los angeles.

'coco' chairs
the 'coco' collection is produced by using natural coconut fiber as a raw material.
cilicon faytory combines the material with resin in the mould.
this new material application for coconut fiber makes the furniture collection suitable for indoor and outdoor uses.
the form of 'coco' is metaphorically a shell structure taking its reference from the fruit itself.
the furniture yields an efficient structure which is both light and strong with minimal material.
included in the series are a stackable chair and table, making them ideal for commercial projects,
space-saving and transportation.
