‘lolis’ chair

mexico-based midi design‘s ‘lolis chair’ is a result of a series of prototypes in which they were trying to challenge stability, design and material resistance. though the chair is not entirely comfortable to sit in for a long time and not constantly stable, it is a study in understanding the strength of the materials at work and the chair’s shape to maintain equilibrium.

the form is influenced from geometrical designs from 60s. ‘lolis’ is an experimental and limited edition chair made from a steel frame, with a wooden seat and backrest, finished with a high resistance polyurethane painting.
