kristin laass + norman ebelt: small kitchen

'small kitchen'
'small type' is a modular kitchen created by german designers kristin laass and norman ebelt.
it is intended to fit into the small spaces and accommodate the diverse habits of its users.
the focus of the protoype is to provide a smooth work cycle and intuitive operation to those
using the kitchen. at only 1mē when closed, 'small type' serves as a dining table. when the
table is rolled away, the full capability of the kitchen unit is revealed with a refrigerator,
induction cooktop, oven, and storage space.

when the table is rolled out, all features of the 'small kitchen' are revealed
under the theme of '1, 2, 3... light kitchen!', 'small kitchen' was one of 6 projects
presented by the students of burg giebichenstein: hochschule fur kunst und design halle
at DMY international design festival berlin 2010. each prototype worked with one square
meter of kitchen space and reexamined the spatial structures of traditional culinary environments.

when closed, 'small kitchen' only takes up 1mē of space
