kawamura-ganjavian: caterpillar trestles

'caterpillar trestles'

taking its creative cue from multi-legged insects, 'caterpillar trestles' by spanish architecture
and design studio kawamura-ganjavian's features a bundle of legs in place of only two.
in doing so, the trestles appear to be set in perpetual motion. when not put to use as a support
system for table tops, these designs can dual as an informal stool.

Quirky design, but I wonder what the clearences for a desk chair on castors would be like...

I agree. Fun, but a bit over-designed. Better as a sculpture!

Interesting approach to design, however I am a believer of keeping designs simple and functional so I must agree with 'Leslieworks' and say it's over-designed and perhaps wasteful.

why can't art and design fuse for once without people commenting on how they love simplicity and how design should only be functional.
what fun is there in making things always looking the same?

I am agree with natalie, I found this piece very interesting. You guys want more minimalistic furniture, with 4 legs and a single table? with the excuse of being pure and functional? I don't think so...
