These are amazing, the first one looks like Antlers to me. Imagine having antlers above your fireplace which light up!

WOW NICE!!!!
NICE   07.23.10
okay, the antlers were done about 4 years ago, I see this as a blatant knockoff...

anon - these new antlers are nicer!

I fully agree with Greg, the Roll & Hill are not very nice at all & are not the same!

I didn't get the point of wireless!? could anyone explain it to me? There is a plug and wires shown on the image..
wire-less   07.26.10
Jason Miller did them first. This is a brazen rip-off and designboom should know this. Hard to believe these copycats made it into a design exhibition.

jason is a good friend of designboom, and yes, he did antler lamps a long time ago.
it's nice that readers remember them, we featured them in several articles, as they evolved from the initial conceptual state - prototype on show - to the final product. these antler lights shown in 'asia now' are always antlers and always lamps, therefore jason's is a forerunner, but the technical development of incorporated leds that shine through the translucent porcelain is new. also, the switch is just a minimal dot that is touch sensitive. the lamp works similar to a torch, without a cable, because of an incorporated battery. you need the cable for long-time use though (as this was a 10 hour per day exhibit). the cable is also used for the dock.

The material is bone China and it's more neat in terms of the appearance and the lighting effect. I saw that in Beijing. I don't think the designer saw Jason's before. It's not available in China at all. Just saw Jason's in HK only last month though.
