'head gardener'
considering herself an urban land artist, anna garforth from the UK integrates her interest
in urban ecology and sustainability through her creative practice. from moss collecting,
wild city foraging to hunting down undomesticated areas of the urban forests in her neighbourhood,
these activities have driven her to discover and understand more about her natural surrounding
and express this passion through the following projects.

'head gardener' is a guerilla gardening project that turns milk bottles into plant containers.
showcased around urban areas, these containers are treated like characters with
overflowing plants doubling as hair.

'rethink'
'rethink' is an installation set up in front of regents canal in london, england which is an
electrical power site with two main resources: gas and water. the word communicates
a need to rethink what our society consumes and how we collectively use our resources.

BTW, I have seen something a bit similar in Berlin : a street artist placed yellow wooden boxes with a plant in each one of it and he wrote "wonder beauty find me on facebook"
I am not quite sure he is delivering eco-conscious messages but the idea is very similar to the milk bottles

I just bought a book by Keri Smith called "The Guerilla Art Kit" which cites both the moss graffiti and weaving leaves through fences. The book overall is fantastic.

Whether its similar to the artist in berlin or not at least its a rethink in urban interaction... a positive for a change.

Very nice and very good idea, giving to urban furniture something nice to see. Cities need these designers desperately - just imegine garbage containers with a nicer look!
