sevensisters recently commissioned the swiss design studio ZMIK to create a special temporary shop for
the annual art|basel, switzerland. the artshop, as it was named, was designed to display and sell various
goods and products during the annual art fair. ZMIK’s design featured plywood crates stacked one on top
of another and held together with long industrial strapping. all the products were displayed on the crates
while extra inventory was stored inside clear plastic bins below. the crates were arranged on different
levels, all overlapping one another. along one of the shop walls, colourful totes were displayed on the
wall and taken off once sold. while just a temporary shop, the whole display was conceived as a longer
term project. the crates can easily be dismantled and stored entirely on two pallets.
