eric therner: diamond light

the diamond light is a new design by the young swedish designer eric therner which is a light bulb with
the iconic form of a diamond. therner describes the design as ‘sculptures, with a function’. his aim was
to create a new form for the light bulb that expands on the regular shape and offers another choice.
the light uses a small halogen light bulb with a lifespan of 2000 hours embedded inside of a glass bulb
that has the faceted form of a diamond. when illuminated, the bulb lights up and adds a sparkle to the
diamond. because it uses a standard bulb, the design can easily be used in a standard light socket.
