Nice idea. Cord seems unresolved.

1- lamps get hot... no matter if its LED, halogen or incandescent.. its transformation of energy into light and none of them are fully efficient and rest is heat... plastic and wood are not good with heat... they smell bad when heated, get deformed and even burn...
2- I agree nuts will loosen up... and I even think plastic and wooden parts forming the chain will worn out in a short time.. wear resistant polymers should have been chosen..
3- not a nice idea at all.. who wants a chain looking but not chain-like acting lamp on his desk?
4- yes cord is unresolved...

Great idea, but should be made of a different material, maybe alloy or something with a stronger visual feeling.
