'field' at london, selfridges - shoe department
on display until september 15th at london's selfridges is designer dominic wilcox's
installation 'field' of green laces.
the project aims to breath life into the simple, inanimate shoe, making a connection
with nature while referencing the lives of the absent owners. the shoe laces of seven
hundred eco-friendly shoes rise up into the air as though growing towards the light
creating a field of green on a bed of earth.
we previously featured 'field' when it was exhibited during london design week september 2009.

This installation has also a strong metaphysic dimension.
They look like brand new and similar to each other.
It shows absence of spirit and memory.
what it looks like if the shoes are used and comes from real person instead of a manufacture.
And what if the shoes have a female and male identity?
Excellent project
Bravo
