‘retroreflector tie’ by jasna sokolovic and noel o’connell

‘retroreflector tie’ by jasna sokolovic and noel o’connell from canada is one of the shortlisted design entries from more than 3000 participants in our recent designboom competition, ‘seoul cycle design competition 2010‘, organized in collaboration with seoul design foundation.

designers’ own words:‘retroreflector tie’ is our reaction to the high visibility clothing offered on the market at present. the majority of what is available is strictly functional, with little or no attention paid to style of playfulness. the ‘retroreflector tie’ is made of standard tie textiles combined with retroreflector materials, which are incorporated into the pattern. the ‘retroreflector tie’, though understated during the day, becomes highly visible in the evening.
