'ridenpush' by you ho jeon - 'seoul cycle design' competition shortlist revealed

'ridenpush' by you ho jeon

'ridenpush' by you ho jeon from korea is one of the shortlisted design entries
from more than 3000 participants in our recent designboom competition,
'seoul cycle design competition 2010', organized in collaboration with seoul design foundation.

designer's own words:
'the seoul style is 'warm-hearted'. in seoul, there are people who do not enjoy
the benefit of design. the elderly people collecting recyclable waste are one of them.
'ridenpush' is a simple idea for expanding the benefit of design in seoul.'

looks like a difficult thing to push. Maybe if the single front wheel came off the ground to be more like a wheel barrow, it'd be easier to steer. x

rendering is beautiful. but. size is almost small car.... why
see-saw   09.15.10
does the handle bar turn when you push! you cannot push when it is turning and if you fix it then it will give another problem... that is not able to turn!

seems that it's REALLY difficult to push on the pedals... is there enough spase to let them turning?!?!?!
inno   09.15.10
I would like to see this project in front-view or sth else, because on this renders it looks like riders heels will be hitting this basket at rear while pedaling;/
tom   09.15.10
I liked the project very good .... especially for those who collaborate in the collection of recyclable waste.
Greetings

extremely interesting. my only minor hint is about the handle bar. maybe adding another horizontal tube that joins the two handles would make it easier to push single handedly. (hope i what i'm trying to say is comprehensible)
Randy   09.15.10
Interesting concept. Reminds me one seen in a temporary exposition in switzerland (Basel), last year. I suggest you just to make it less complex. Good night and good luck.

this is a great concept for airport luggage transportation.
Large airports where commuters have to change terminals and await for new flights with their luggage, could use equipment like this one to ease the commuter's travel time between terminals, while at the same time allowing them to neatly take their belongings with them.

Great piece of equipment with probable multi-featured functionality.
djorge   09.15.10
One major problem I see is that when the pedals turn wont they hit the luggage compartment?

Might be the view, but still, if there´s space, it doens´t seem to have alot of it for the heels.
Why?   09.15.10
Interesting concept. Only the handle bar need to be much lower to be an effective push-bar.
