as part of london design week 2010, the lollipop shoppe has invited 11 furniture designers and architects
to deal with the idea of contemporary public furniture by asking them each to design a public bench.
exhibited through old spital fields market, one of the architects invited to participate was JDS architects
(julien de smedt) who has proposed 'stair', a bench with multiple seating levels, allowing the public to sit
in a way that is less prescribed, more flexible and more social. it is made constructed with plywood
triangular prisms which have been connected in a way in which they form an infinite variety of stair-shaped seating platforms.

nice. but, looks like it'll fall over backward if there isn't someone sitting on the lower part. And, I really only see one config--where are the "infinite" others?
