UK-based raw edges (yael mer and shay akalay) designed ‘plaid bench’ as part of the bench 10 project – organized by the lollipop shoppe – during london design week 2010. the seating unit consists of three different benches: a hardwood version, a plywood bench painted white, as well as a pine construction which has been painted in bright blues and greens. each of the designs can stand alone, however, raw edges has made the three benches in such a way that they interlock into one another horizontally and vertically, creating a large rectangular platform forming a vibrant plaid pattern.

designboom previously wrote about JDS architects’ ‘stair’ bench which was also presented as part of the project.
