claesson koivisto rune: vindobona at vienna design week
‘vindobona’ by claesson koivisto rune

stockholm-based design collective claesson koivisto rune (mårten claesson, eero koivisto
and ola rune) has collaborated with viennese glass and chandelier producer, j. & l. lobmeyer
to create a series of mouth-blown crystal glass carafes with engraved patterns. designed for
the event of this year’s vienna design week, ‘vindobona’ includes handcrafted silver and gold
drinking tumblers as well as alternative collars to adapt the carafes into vases. the designs
are featured in an installation at liechtenstein museum from september 30th to november 9th, 2010.

gold and silver collars

working with the exclusive silver manufacturer, wiener silber manufactur, each collar
is designed to accommodate a specific type of flower or bouquet: a lily, a bouquet of poppies
and a bouquet of tulips. they come in a selection of finishes which include hammered, brushed,
or polished surfaces and are also available in gold.

the engraved patterns on the body of the carafe are selected from lobmeyr’s archives.
two new patterns were also specifically created by claesson koivisto rune for
the ‘vindobona’ collection.
