the bike collects usable energy generated by the pedaling in its front wheel to recharge

designers' own words:
'nowadays, using a bicycle is in tune with finding recycled energy and preserving the environment.
're:energy' is a type of generator from a bicycle. when it is being pedaled, the rotational energy gets

collected in the front where where there is a socket to charge small electrical devices.'

Its fantastic!!!
@twi_ts   10.12.10
i want that wheel!
Bas Jansen   10.12.10
Looks amazing! However, the battery is very small, I doubt this is really practical.
Alexei SF, CA   10.12.10
waw so nice and now they talk about charging dy ur sound and by the air goooo
nuha   10.13.10
Some bike-lamps already support charging via usb...
Phil   10.13.10
The idea is really cool, but i think too that the battery is very small and maybe not enough to full with energy the battery of the laptop, and it could be bad for it with time
NOIR   10.13.10
grate!!! how it didn't win??
venezuelan   10.13.10
Very nice, but what about aerodynamics? Any lateral wind will make this bike unrideable, and will make its user lose a lot of his own energy...
Dorfmeister   10.13.10
If the wheel was moved to the rear, lateral wind problems would be greatly reduced (steering), as well as the longevity of the wheel. Front wheels get the heck beat out of them, as they are the first to encounter obstacles...
Jeff F   10.15.10
where is the proof that this actually works? you do not understand who ride bikes and why they do it, nor the structure of energy.

Though it does make sense to say that the battery is quite small and as a commuter who only owns a bike I agree with having the that wheel in the front is impractical, but that's not the point of this design. Or at least I don't think so, this is a great idea, ideas like this should constantly be put put there for the world to see, learn from, and develop so the we can slowly better the way we treats our environment.
