in one month the museum boijmans van beuningen in rotterdam, netherlands will present the first dutch retrospective
exhibition of the designer hella jongerius. the exhibition ‘hella jongerius: misfit’ will run from november 13, 2010
to february 13, 2011. the show will surveys the designers work showcasing an indepth look at her working methods,
experiments and completed projects. among the works on show is a group of three hundred coloured vases, ‘series 3’,
that use an existing vase as a canvas for different patterns and colours. the third series is being produced in
collaboration with royal tichelaar makkum. while the first two series of vases used industrial glaze colours,
the third series uses historical mineral recipes and chemical glazes to create a new series of irregular colours.
