designing south africa



this past summer designboom participated in designing south africa, a multi-media documentary exploring how design,
architecture and creativity affect cities and society. coming right after the country hosted the FIFA 2010 world cup,
the project looks at the impact this event had on the country and its people. designboom visited a number of architectural
sites designed for the event and met with a number of the key influencers. design curator zahira asmal is leading the
project, which aims to document the legacy of the world cup. the project website recently launched with a variety of
content including videos and images with a book and series of exhibitions to follow in the coming months.
