displayed at the city centre during the 13th edition of designers' saturday in langenthal, switzerland
was 't-room' by locally-based design preis schweiz. consisting of hundreds of tea bags strung together
in rows and columns, the resulting multi-storey installation defines a three dimensional space that
is both tangible and ethereal. it was the intention of the design to crete an atmosphere that contrasted
with the industrial loft space in which it is exhibited.

design preis schweiz was captivated by the simple design of the tea bag: in which form follows function,
the bag is a result of a series of folds to eliminate adhesive use. to maximize infusion and flavour
while keeping in mind ecological sanitation, the material used is a paper made from 30% cellulose
and 70% natural fibre. the team at designer's saturday also served tea at a bar at the back of the space,
ensuring visitors to experience the installation in an olfactory and gustatory manner.

since its inception in 1987, the event in langenthal has provided a venue for professionals,
designers, and interested consumers to share and explore the source of creative design.
integrating all tiers and branches of creating such as entrepreneurs and manufacturers,
designers' saturday aims to be an informal rendezvous for the industry and enable dynamic
exchange amongst all participants. the most innovative feature of the 3-day event is the
incorporation of several active workplaces to act as venues for the participating exhibitors.
the showing designs are put into context in a relevant environment while also providing
visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the creating process.
